Green Divot Mix

This year we want to incorporate the use of green divot mix sand on our fairways and tees instead of the plain white divot mix as well as adding some fertilizer and wetting agents into the mix.  By doing this we want to speed up germination and healing of divots on fairways and tees.

We decided to experiment with turf paint as you see in the above photo.  Using turf paint and mixing it ourselves will save us money instead of just buying green divot mix sand.

We loaded up one of our herbicide sprayers with paint and started spraying away.  This is definitely not a good and time effective way of doing this job but its only an experiment for now.

After spraying approximately 5 gallons of paint and mixing with a loader bucket we were able to achieve our desired shade of green.
