We were finally able to obtain a wicker basket for our 14th hole which is Merion's 11th hole. Merion uses wicker baskets instead of traditional flags for each of their holes.
We decided to paint the wicker basket orange because at Merion all wicker baskets on the back nine are orange and all wicker baskets on the front nine are red.

Roland- I am a PGA Professional at a private club outside Dallas, TX. Our club championship is a week before the U.S. Open and we're considering putting a display together, which includes a wicker basket flag stick.
