Bunker Weeds

Starting in late spring till now the weed growth on our golf course has been horrific to say the least. Our bunkers and bunker faces have been the areas where weed growth has been the worst as well as our main roughs, green surrounds and tee surrounds which are not as bad. Broadleaf weeds don't seem to be much of a problem is year compared to past years.

Nutsedge, and killinga have been wreaking havoc on our bunker faces and are quite noticeable considering color and the rate at which it grows compared to our actual rough.

Goose grass has been growing quite a bit inside our bunkers and along our cartpaths as well as in some of our greens.

To combat this problem we are spraying herbicides geared toward killing sedges and goosegrass on our bunker edges. Goosegrass seems pretty much impossible to control when it reaches a certain stage of maturity. We are using roundup to kill the goosegrass that are growing inside our bunkers.
